Tip: Do you want to run the PBX behind NAT but talk to your ITSP? No problem. The PBX supports STUN and other methods that make it possible to operate the PBX even behind a firewall.

North Andover, MA - March 29th 2007 - pbxnsip Inc., a leader in SIP-based IP-PBX software for both Microsoft Windows and Linux environments, today announced they have successfully demonstrated direct Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) connection with the Microsoft Exchange 2007 Unified Messaging (UM) platform. Exchange Server 2007 UM is the leading Enterprise business platform that delivers unified email, fax, voice mail, and auto attendant functionality. Several PBX manufacturers need a gateway to connect to Exchange 2007 UM, but pbxnsip IP-PBX systems can connect directly via SIP trunking.
"Several customers in the US, Puerto Rico, Germany, and South Africa have asked for SIP trunking to their Exchange 2007 UM servers", said Paul McCabe, VP of Business Development at pbxnsip, Inc. "With our ability to interface directly to Exchange without the need for expensive gateways, the customer benefits with a pure SIP solution that lowers the cost of ownership and management between their PBX and their enterprise email platform. Customers are looking for a common Inbox for their email and voicemail through Unified Messaging."
One pbxnsip Premium Partner who has tested Exchange Server 2007 UM with a pbxnsip server is very happy with the results. "I have installed pbxnsip systems for several years now and the ability to link my customers' PBXs with their Exchange server is a tremendous feature", said Yori Kasprzak, founder of Brandywine Technical Partners of Salem, NH and Philadelphia, PA.
"My customers can now store telephone voicemails on their Exchange Server 2007 UM and retrieve them using Microsoft's Automatic Speech Recognition (ASR) over the SIP trunk to the pbxnsip server."
At the recently completed CeBIT 2007 held in Hannover, Germany, a pbxnsip IP-PBX server was featured in the Microsoft booth along with IP phones from snom technology AG of Germany. This is the first time Microsoft has heavily featured VoIP and SIP at CeBIT, the world's largest computer trade show held each spring in Germany. Microsoft showcased several of their Unified Messaging products including Microsoft Exchange Server 2007, Microsoft Office Communications Server (OCS), and Microsoft Office Communicator. All support the SIP protocol.
pbxnsip, Inc. is a leader in SIP based IP-PBX software systems for Microsoft Windows, Linux, and OEM environments. Phone systems running pbxnsip software can scale from as few as 10 extensions to as many as a 1000 extensions in local and hosted modes. With high-end features like End-to-End Security using SIPS / SRTP, a built-in Session Border Controller, and integration with Microsoft Exchange 2007 UM, pbxnsip is building phone systems that offer great value to SMB customers
