In the same way that hotels use UHLL software to manage their billing and every day activity, cruise liners need to have their communications linked to their billing system or integrated in to their telecommunications platform.
pbxnsip IP PBX can offer this. The cruise liner can be equipped with a satellite communications product that serves the vessel with connectivity, this can be linked to a locally deployed pbxnsip software server allowing the passengers to make an outbound call from their cabin when necessary.
There are two commercially viable ways of implementing this, one way is by integrating the UHLL platform with pbxnsip phone system so that the user can be billed as part of their overall invoice when departing the ship. The second is to integrate with a 3rd party billing application that will be able to bill per extension on a call by call basis when used, this will correspond with a cabin number and can also be billed then the customer departs the ship.
