pbxnsip - Top System in France, Belgium and Luxemburg
pbxnsip goes Legal with Top System!

pbxnsip and Top System have successfully implemented a fully integrated IP PBX modular system with Top Systems very successful Avonca product in central Europe, providing the legal arena with an integrated IP PBX and Lawyers software.

This is in response to growing demand for Lawyers, Solicitors and Barristers to have a complete solution, fulfilling their internal network infrastructure and telephony requirements. After a two year, poor experience, with other IP PBX products, Top System approached the Avonca IP PBX issue with a new vertical application, pbxnsip, which is secure, robust and feature rich, this has opened new avenues for growth and is easy to install, configure and integrate with the product.

'We are extremely happy to have signed this distribution contract with pbxnsip. Already Top System has successfully integrated its two remote sites in Brussels and Casablanca, and their home workers, as proof of concept for our entire network. We are convinced of the possibilities offered by the product! Top System aims to offer its resellers the Avonca and pbxnsip product in French and Dutch and full pre and after sales support, training and consultancy on integrating pbxnsip with other applications'. Commented Regis Scyeur, CTO Partner at Top System.

'pbxnsip has seen a lull in the French speaking community for some time now and we have been looking for a strong distributor to support and consult the Belgium, Morocco and Luxembourg markets with the full backing of pbxnsip. Top System has a very good reputation and many years experience in supporting their channel and growing businesses successfully, I’m very happy that we crossed paths and can see a great future for Avonca and pbxnsip working together'. Questions you are too afraid to ask!
Learn some Easy 'Know How'

What is UHLL?
UHLL means - Universal Hospitality Layer Link. It is a middleware management system that sits between many devices or applications and hotel systems. pbxnsip communicates to the UHLL allowing it to be integrated with many hotel platforms around the world.

What is a Dial Plan?
A dial plan is designed to route calls if they don't exist on the PBX. The routing logic within pbxnsip is to see if the number dialled is held locally within the domain, if it is, call that number. If the number dialled is not held within the domain, the PBX will send the call to the Dial Plan associated with the account. Here the dial plan is used to match certain routing criteria configured by the administrator.

A dial plan can be easy or complex, it all depends how you need to configure your call routing on the PBX.

What is a DDI?
A telephone number that allows external callers into the PBX to dial directly to the required extension without going through a switchboard operator

What is the Privacy Settings on a trunk?
The trunk may or may not register. Besides this, the ITSP or gateway which receives the information may need the Caller-ID of the calling party to be passed to it. This is does via the privacy indication setting. Try each setting until you find the right one.

What is the PSTN?
The PSTN is the Public Switch Telephone Network, a term for the telephone network as we have used for many years.

What is a Media Gateway?
A media gateway is a device that sits between the PBX and the PSTN network. pbxnsip communicates with the media gateway using a Trunk.

What is NAT?
Network Address translation (NAT) is the translation of an Internet Protocol address (IP address) between networks. One network is designated the inside network and the other is the outside. Typically, a company maps its local inside network address to a global outside (public) IP addresses. NAT unmaps the global IP addresses on incoming packets back into local IP addresses. This helps ensure security. It can also cause severe headaches without a NAT filter or session border controller.

Caller-ID Treatment - 'Know How' -
Caller-ID’s are usually telephone numbers. By providing your caller-ID to the party that you are calling, the called party may be able to look you up in an address book, initiate a callback, or just see who is calling.

Sometimes you want to reject calls that come from callers whose Caller ID does not reveal their identity. Most VoIP systems use the name "anonymous" in the caller-ID in such a case. To treat these calls, dial *88. If you have set the call forwarding on busy condition, the PBX will forward anonymous calls to that destination (for example, your assistant). This way, you can make sure that anonymous calls get screened first before you take the call. If you have not set the call forward on busy, the system will play an announcement to the caller that tells him that the call cannot be taken because of the blocked Caller-ID.

To allow anonymous calls again, dial *89.

If you want to place a call without showing your caller-ID, dial *67. You will hear an announcement that the caller-ID will be blocked for all future calls.
Access To the Database - 'Know How'
Accessing to a number of PBX databases serves as an excellent purpose to manage PBX servers from a single remote host management system. The type of access protocol we currently provide is Simple Object Access Protocol (SOAP). This protocol borrows from the well-known Hyper-Text Transfer Protocol(HTTP) which gives web developers and even software engineering with much more power and extensibility with the web/stand-alone application than what the HTTP and basic object/modular collaboration provides.

In this article, the basic requirement is that you have at least the fundamental understanding of how HTTP functions and it's request/response mechanism, and follow the proper syntax as described below. SOAP can be pretty simple as HTTP and all of that HTML syntaxes, however it is much more evolved and is becoming a widely accepted standard. The Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) and the Request For Comment (RFC) entities have incorporated the protocol along with their documentation.

Dial 9 first - 'Know How' -
If you want to dial 9 before your call, add this to the dial plan 9*, this will capture any number beginning with 9, strip the nine and pass the remaining numbers to the trunk.

Call Back - 'Know How' -
The Call Back feature of the pbxnsip can be done by configuring a Calling Card account. Create a calling card account and flag it as Call Back. The PBX will carry out a 2 stage Call Back mode. Firstly the PBX will answer the phone and request authentication and your phone number and then the pbx will call you back and ask you for your final destination number. Leave the rest to pbxnsip. pbxnsip Call Back will save you money.

pbxnsip have had the UHLL hospitality edition ratified and available for sale for some time now and we are pleased to say that it is fast becoming extremely popular.

The hospitality license has many advantages over traditional legacy systems and is a very useful solutions that you can integrate with pbxnsip. This offering your hotel, a management system which will allow their IP PBX to be used in a manner that they have never seen before. For example, when a room is being cleaned the attendant can enter a star feature code and this will alert the hotel management system and update in real time to tell the check-in attendant the status of the room. Very powerful when considering time management and business continuity!

Some Other useful Sales Tips

SIP Trunks
With VoIP having had its fair share of cowboys involved over the years, SIP Trunk termination has not reached anywhere near its potential. pbxnsip have tested over 200 trunk termination vendors and numerous connectivity providers and are pleased to announce that all vendors using Pure SIP technology have passed testing and are ratified.

SIP trunks offer a cost effective solution to the end user customer and quite often can reduce the bottom line of the pbx cost when reducing the factor of a media gateway. We recommend that there is always a gateway installed for failover, so a PRI, BRI or Analogue internal or external gateway can be used for 911/999 calls and as resilience ‘IF’ there is an interruption in the connectivity. Always deploy a high SLA connection such as SDSL, ADSL Max or a leased line.
Call Redirection - Are you missing calls?
Its very difficult to be at your desk and available all of the time however features such as call redirection, dual ring and cell integration mean that you need never miss another important call again.

Whether you're in the office or hot desking you can redirect on call busy, no answer or time out to either another extension, voicemail or your cell phone. If on the other hand you would like to register your call phone as an extension on the pbx, you can do so with cell phone integration or you could initiate dual ring so that multiple registrations ring when your DDI is called and also fork to your mobile phone at the same time.
