Tip: Sleepless nights because you don't know if your VoIP system is up and running? The pbxnsip PBX uses SNMP (simple network management protocol) that can talk to your network monitoring system and give you an alarm if something is going wrong.
Check out our Wiki for more information.

Software is very flexible

The pbxnsip PBX is software. If you already have a server or you feel more comfortable with your own server hardware, you might want to get just the software. And after all, if your demo installation works great, there is no need to change the equipment.

We offer flexible licensing methods:

  • You may decide, how many extensions, auto attendants and other accounts you want to have.
  • Consider our software bundles as a good starting point. If you need anything else, we can generate you a key for that.
  • If you don’t feel comfortable binding the license to your server’s MAC address, get one of our USB sticks. If you need to change your server hardware, just put the USB stick into the new hardware.

You may choose between Microsoft Windows-based operating systems and several Linux distributions (RedHat, SuSE or Debian). Even if you change your mind later, you can just backup your configuration and switch operating system (for example, if you use the USB key).

Run it local, run it remote

The pbxnsip PBX can be run both in local and hosted environments.

  • Running it local is simple and reliable. All you need is a stable LAN and a PSTN termination. This is the typical setup for companies that have one main location and it is simple.
  • You can also run the PBX in the public Internet and access the service from anywhere in the Internet. This model is suitable if you have a scattered workforce or if you want to run the PBX service for several companies. The multiple-domain mode of the PBX will be very useful in this case.

You can also mix these two models. If you have a main office and just want to include a few external extensions in the setup, consider putting one leg of the PBX in the public Internet and the other one in your voice VLAN. The PBX can deal with that.
